Paul Villinski has lived and worked in New York since graduating from The Cooper Union in 1984. A pilot of sailplanes and paragliders, metaphors of flight and soaring often appear in Villinski's work. With a lifelong concern for environmental issues, his work frequently re-purposes discarded materials, effecting surprising and poetic transformations. He is represented in New York by Morgan Lehman Gallery and his work has been widely exhibited across the US with solo shows at The Museum of Arts and Design in New York, Rice University Art Gallery in Houston and Project 1, an international Biennial held in New Orleans. His work has been written up in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Interior Design and The Toronto Star.
